Who Regulates Us - P & C (Insurance Brokers) Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Our FSA Register number is 312903. You can check this on the FSA's Register by visiting the FSA's website www.fsa.gov.uk/register/ or by contacting the FSA on 0845 606 1234.

Our permitted business - Our permitted business is insurance mediation activities in relation to general insurance contracts or pure protection contracts (apart from long-term care insurance contracts).

Our Service - P & C (Insurance Brokers) Ltd are independent insurance brokers, acting on your behalf to arrange your insurance. We offer a "fair analysis of the market" service which means we have access to wide a range of insurance solutions from most leading insurers and many specialist schemes. We aim to offer the highest standards of service in establishing appropriate insurance cover to meet your requirements. We will advise and make a recommendation for you after we have assessed your needs. As part of our service, we will also assist you with any claim you need to make, including, if required, the recovery of any straightforward uninsured losses.

Ownership - P & C (Insurance Brokers) Ltd is a privately owned Company.

If we cannot settle your complaint, you may be entitled to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Financial Services Compensation Scheme - We are covered by the FSCS. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim. Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the first £2,000 and 90% of the remainder of the claim, without any upper limit. For compulsory classes of insurance, insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the claim, without any upper limit. Further information about the compensation scheme arrangements is available from the FSCS.

Transmission of Insurer Funds - In certain circumstances we may pass premiums to a 2nd firm, such as a third party intermediary or scheme broker who will advise us when the funds are transferred to the Insurer.

Issue of Documentation - We can issue certain policies on behalf of certain insurers.

Duty of Disclosure - It is your responsibility to provide complete and accurate information to insurers when you take out your insurance policy, throughout the life of your policy and when to renew your insurance. It is important to ensure that all statements you make to us, both before and during the policy term, verbally and in writing on proposal forms, claim forms and other documentation are full and accurate. Please note that if you fail to disclose any material information to your insurers, this could invalidate your insurance cover and could mean that part or all of your claim may be paid. Commercial Customers should take particular care to check the accuracy of all information provided.

Notification of Claims - It is essential that you notify us immediately in the event of an incident, which may result in a claim against your insurance policy. You must do this whether you believe that you are liable or not. Any letter of claim received by you must be passed to us immediately without acknowledgement. Prompt notification of all incidents will enable your insurers to protect your interests. Your policy documentation will generally give you details of whom to contact to make a claim. If this information is not provided, you require some assistance or you simply prefer please contact us. We will then advise you as to what action is required and by whom. You will be required to provide full details of your claim and will be advised as to how you should do this.

Confidentiality & Data Protection - All the information about you will be treated as private & confidential. We will only use and disclose the information we have about you in the normal course of arranging and administering your insurance and for credit referencing purposes. We will not disclose any information to any other parties without your express consent. Cost & Terms of Payment - We accept payment by cheque, cash or by one of the credit schemes we have arranged in addition to which many insurers offer monthly instalment schemes and/or credit/debit card facilities. We will give you full information about your payment options when we discuss your insurance in detail. Our payment terms are as follows (unless specifically agreed in writing to the contrary) New policies: immediate payment on inception of the policy. Alterations to existing Policies: immediate payment on the effective date of the change. Renewals: due in full by the renewal date. Unless we receive instructions prior to the expiry of your policy, all cover will cease and will not be operative until such time as instructions have been received and accepted. In the event of cancellation commission earned by us in placing or arranging the insurance is nonrefundable. In certain circumstances we retain the right to withhold documentation, as a lien, against outstanding payment. This does not affect your rights to receive details of cover and any documents required by law. We make no charges in excess of the premiums charged by insurers unless specifically stated, prior to commencement of cover.
